Calculation of Coil Load if you know the fan CFM?

Calculation of Coil Load if you know the fan CFM?

Calculation of Coil Load if you know the fan CFM?

(OP)
Hey guys,

I want to calculate the steam load of the coil. I know the fan CFM and outdoor and indoor air temperatures. Should I use the formula Q=4.5*cfm*delta(h).?
If yes I was wondering how would I calculate the enthalpy because I dont know the wet bulb temperature. I am confused maybe I am sounding dumb. Help me out.

RE: Calculation of Coil Load if you know the fan CFM?

Since heating is a 100% sensible heat process you can use Q = 1.1*cfm*ΔT

RE: Calculation of Coil Load if you know the fan CFM?

Since you are involved in an air cool heat exchanger, you should use your search engine on how these devices are designed because the OP does not address surface areas, inlet and outlet steam pressures and temperatures, flow rates. I personally do not like to use the "can " formulae presented above because they involve some simplification in the design of HX.

RE: Calculation of Coil Load if you know the fan CFM?

mehtesham wants to calculate coil load, not coil actual efficiency, so formula above is all what he needs, THAN he can select the coil using heat transfer equations, manufacturer's selection software (the best) or some generic heat exchanger software.
