Hello

Where can I find free extra material libraries for NX?

RE: free matml?

At:
Free Extra Material Libraries For NX "R" Us

RE: free matml?

I'm aware of some other organizations, usually those associated with analysis software or services, who provide such things as specialized material libraries in a format compatible with NX, but my understanding is that these are NOT free. Now it is possible that if you'er purchasing some specialized materials that the vendors of this materials may offer some help in getting the information necessary when you wish to perform a simulation, but again, you's have to follow-up with something like that yourself on a case-by-case basis.

RE: free matml?

SolidWorks give all DIN material in xml format that is different to MatML, so it's impossible to convert without programming.

Jerry, what do you mean :

I searched with Google your phrase without solution.

Thank you...

I thought that libraries where inteneded to be used with NX.

RE: free matml?

NX is using a format which is compatible with commercially available libraries. The files provided by Siemens when you install NX, are licensed to you as part of your NX license.

BTW, that website you posted, those are NOT the types of material that we're talking about when you use the tern 'MatML'. These are material libraries intended to support structural analysis and simulation. What you found was a site for 'materials' used in the sense of photo-rendering and visualization, something which is totally different. So let's make sure that we're talking about Apples or Oranges here, OK?

Getting back to the issue of the 'MatML' standard itself, perhaps this may help you:

Note that there are several websites referenced in this document, some of which might be sources for public domain versions of material libraries.
