JDEdwards CAM system as a CMMS?
JDEdwards CAM system as a CMMS?
(OP)
Hi,
I run a waste to energy facility which desperately needs a CMMS system. Our parent company(the government)has recently invested in JDEdwards E1 for finance, accounting, procurement and stores inventory purposes. They have promised to expand the system to include a Capital Asset Mangament system native to E1 to address our needs for a CMMS.
Is anyone familiar with the JDEdwards E1 CAM system? Can it meet all the needs of a more specialized CMMS?
My other thought is to look into Maximo, which the local power company has just invested in. It can integrate with E1 (don;t know how difficult, but others have done it). To do this however, I really need to know that it will be superior to the E1 system, or that the E1 system won;t be able to meet all needs.
Any experiences with the E1 system would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Technically it is against eng-tips protocol for me to sell on this site, but my company provides excellent CMMS products and service and I would love the opportunity to speak to you off the site and get a feel for what you are looking for. Perhaps we could offer a solution that makes sense. I will never bad mouth another product, but I will say that the system you are looking into (JD Edwards) is excellent at what they do, but they do not specialize in CMMS, as the poster above mentioned. My personal email is phillip.thiel@gmail.com. Shoot me an email and I can give you more information. I look forward to heating from you.

Take a look at Dalian Pro, it is a full web browser CMMS program designed by maintenance supervisors and engineers who understand what maintenance requires from a CMMS program. The program resides on your own server and full support is provided from server install and setup through to building the data. It is powerful, feature packed and uses pull down menus and has the best navigation system on the market. Programmed in ASPX (DotNet) and uses Microsoft SQL 2005, 2008 or higher servers. Runs on IE and all hand held devices without the need for additional software. See our app on the ANdroid market, or ems2000.ca
The best CMMS available, fully web based and the best cost and ROI product available today.
