Condition Monitoring Locations
Condition Monitoring Locations
(OP)
Hello all,
I'm attempting to develop a loose outline for a Mechanical Integrity Progam. The API and ASME literature is good but it doesn't give even basic guidelines on how to determine locations/patterns of Testing and Condition Monitoring Locations, it just says to consult an expert. There is an endless slew of books and papers on the subject but I don't want to waste the money buying something that's just going to tell me to 'consult a corrosion specialist to determine Condition Monitoring Locations' as the API Standards do. 'Corrosion Inspection and Monitoring' by Pierre Roberge looks promising, does anyone have any ewxperience with it? Any and all help is much appreciated.

'During inspection, perform [NDE Method] test every ____ meters for the length of the pipe'
The goal is to establish an excessive amount of inspection points then compare them to previously acquired data and determine which points are unnecessary based on low corrosion rates and eliminate them. I know this kind of specificity is dependant on many parameters (fluid flow, acidity, construction material, etc.) but I'm wondering if there is a general model to be applied. Thanks again for your post and any future help.
