Failed to weld corner joint

Failed to weld corner joint

Failed to weld corner joint

I have what I think is a reasonably simple corner on a sheet-metal panel, but cannot use the sheet-metal 'welded corner' tool to create a welded corner. I've attached an image and the offending part.

Pretty sure you'll be able to see what I'm aiming for, so any suggestions to achieve that are obviously welcome.

Thanks all!

RE: Failed to weld corner joint

I believe the Welded Corner only works where the edges being welded share a common vertex.

That's a bit iffy, isn't it? Surely this is quite a feasible operation? I'm quite surprised SW can't do it!

Ok, so what's the work-around?

RE: Failed to weld corner joint

Use the Sweep function to create the weld.
Or add a Caterpillar annotation and notate the weld in the drawing.

I've made a small fillet-shaped extrusion along the edge I want to weld, which happily disappears when I open it up to be a flat pattern. I think this will suffice. Feels a bit naff though...
