Creating a 2D Pro/E drawing with only IGS file
Creating a 2D Pro/E drawing with only IGS file
(OP)
I have an 3D IGS file of a part that I need to make into a 2D drawing (either in Pro/E or in AutoCAD) complete with dimensions. It needs to be editable. I need a way to do this without having to actually redraw everthing because it is a very complex part and I do not have all of the necessary dimensions to make a part from scratch. What is the best way to do this? I can't tell if this is easy or impossible...
PS I'm a Pro/E newbie and even worse at AutoCAD so speak slowly haha.

SUPPOSEDLY you can open it in CREO Elements Direct and you can modify it. I have no idea how well that works.
I have no idea what AutoMADS current capabilities are in this regard.

You either have to live with it as static geometry and dimension it in detail using created dimensions / tolerances, or recreate it with parametric features.
