LPG & VACCUM DESIGN!!

LPG & VACCUM DESIGN!!

(OP)
Hello everyone...I have to design LPG and VACCUM SYSTEM for a Research Laboratory. Please Let me know the different codes and standards I need to follow. Am a Fresh graduate without much experience so your guidance will be a great support..Please provide any useful links which may be helpful.

RE: LPG & VACCUM DESIGN!!

Employ a qualified engineer with suitable experience and learn from that person. Otherwise you will end up defending yourself in court after the inevitable explosion.

RE: LPG & VACCUM DESIGN!!

Adnan,
Just a bit more detail to C2it reply;- to design an LPG system (supply, storage, piping, safety, etc) require a qualified and experienced design engineer, able to produce the code required design calculations, also the design has to be authorised in most of the cases. All this is to ensure the health and safety of the system operators. If not safe, they'll get hurt and you will be charged for professional negligence.
Obviously, you cannot learn the experience overnight, hence the recommended option is for you is to hire an experienced design engineer and he'll be liable for the design.
Cheers,

Look tothe equipemnet suppliers websites for information on the dev ices that may be employed. These include Corken, Robertshaw Controls, Blackmer. These websites will show compliance to standards.

You have not mentioned what country you are in and there could be local standards that apply. Thus check with your local stae or national standards bodies as to applicable standards. You building insurer may also have something to say about relevant standards.

In Australia the relevant standards is AS 1596 http://infostore.saiglobal.com/store/Details.aspx?...
