Binders in SSP fertilizer production
Binders in SSP fertilizer production
(OP)
Good Day
I am currently doing a project concerning the hardness/storage characteristics of SSP fertilizer. I need to improve the hardness of the granules and was thinking of adding a binder like sodium silicate or potassium silicate. I can't find useful information regarding application method though, or whether the use of binders have any effects on the general characteristics of fertilizer. Currently the fertilizer is granulated with water in rotary bin granulators. Any information is sincerely appreciated.

RE: Binders in SSP fertilizer production
I happen to work as a process engr on a fertilizer plant also, but am not that well-versed with the process as our SSP production stopped years ago, what i've heard from the people here, is that SSP has a curing time of not less than 7 days. I would like to hear from our fellows here, as i am interested to learn also.
