NACE MR 0175 deos not address whether HIC is required or not for a material . How to find whether HIC testing is required or not?

RE: NACE MR 01-75 COMPLIANCE & HIC TESTING

By asking the end user to state whether it is required. They are the responsible party.

Thank you steve for your reply. I was curious how would I do, if I was end user.

RE: NACE MR 01-75 COMPLIANCE & HIC TESTING

You would most likely base the need for HIC testing on the likelihood of this damage mechanism occurring given the product form and chemical composition along with the criticality of the item
