[NX 7] Through curves
[NX 7] Through curves
(OP)
Hi,
I'm trying to create a path cable with through curves command, but I'm not able to reverse the flow direction of the second curve.
See attached picture.
The best is create a 3D spline and after the tube command, but sincerely I'm not able to create a spline attached to the two plane surfaces with the tangent direction to the axis cable.
Spline tool for me is at the moment an obscure command.
I attach also the result obtained with other system CAD.

some commands are not fully understood, so I thought to wrong in the Through Curves and as I had guessed, is not command to use.
I tried using the bridge command, but I'm not able to set a start tangent to the cable and the opposite end in the connector.
Do you have a short video?
The top, I would make a spline, but even here I lack the knowledge of the command.
A video to create a spline for 3 points would be useful.
Thanks

I hate to say this, but if at this point in time (I know you've been using NX for at least 2 1/2 years since I personally have been responding to your inquiries here since November, 2009) you still feel that you need someone to create for you "A video to create a spline for 3 points..." before you can continue with this model, then you really need to consider taking some formal training. These message boards are NOT, and never will be, a substitute for being adequately and properly training, PERIOD!

I'm talking about curve bridge.
NX cover more environments and it's impossible to know everything.
My job is project automatic machines and some command are not covered or covered sometimes in one months.
Remember that the company pay me to project and not remain updated to CAD evolution or to know each NX command.
What I know on NX is under the web and from this site, outside the hour job and loose my spare time, only to know NX better.
I understand that Eng Tips in not the site to make courses, but I didn't ask to understand how to make pattern (title block template), but only make two short video to cover the bridge curve and spline.

RE: [NX 7] Through curves
here's a little video. A lot of zooming and panning since i made the screen area small to keep the video small.
I used a spline, not a bridge curve, since i felt i needed an extra point along the curve.
once I have selected the point and G1 ( Tangency) i need to pick one of the points again to reverse the tangency direction, then 2 arrows appears, one of the two arrows allows "reverse direction by double click" ( I am trying on the wrong one in the video...)
The video is captured using Snagit, if it doesn't replay, download the codec from techsmith.com

the video is clear and perfect.
