ST2 Traditional Assembly - Parts go missing / wrong location

ST2 Traditional Assembly - Parts go missing / wrong location

ST2 Traditional Assembly - Parts go missing / wrong location

(OP)
Hi,

I'm having a major problem with a few of our assemblies.
Basically a few of our parts within the assembly appear to visually lose their relationships and be positioned in an incorrect location.I.e. Parts are placed at a central location within the assembly. However when you try to select the part (within the display window) you are unable to click or select the part. If you click on the part in the pathfinder and view each relationship you can see the part highlighted in the correct position. All parts have no failed relationships and the remaining parts are all constrained and defined.

In addition, whilst in the process of rotating the assembly additional parts are visually moved to the same central location, however once you stop rotating the assembly the additional part locates back to the correct location.(Problem above still persist though)

We have tried deleting the files and re-associating the part, however that only works sometimes and somewhat a band-aid solution.

We have tried the following options without any change:

Tools - Update all Links

Tools - Errors

Tools - Update Structure

Saving file

Restart/shut down computer.

Tried different computers.

Any help would be appreciated

RE: ST2 Traditional Assembly - Parts go missing / wrong location

Its a display problem - what graphics card do you have in the computer?

bc.
2.4GHz Core2 Quad, 4GB RAM,
Quadro FX4600.

Where would we be without sat-nav?

Graphics card: NVIDIA Quadro FX 1700 512mb.
I've since done a search and seems like others have had a similar problem in regards to the lag in the refresh rate, but I still dont understand why
some parts move relative to each other.

RE: ST2 Traditional Assembly - Parts go missing / wrong location

Graphics card should be Ok as its a proper CAD card - these problems are sometimes linked to using a gaming card.
Have you tried a different driver?

Problem solved (for the time being)
Open up the part that has the problem.
Right-click on the file in the pathfinder and click "Recompute"
Updated all links and it should work.
