Is there a requirement for the number of man doors to be supplied for access into a room containing a MCC center ?

I prefer two doors to any sizable room - not closets - for example.
What if there is a fire right in front of the ONLY door out?? With two doors chances that both would be blocked are minimal - I would think - esp if they are nearly opposite each other. If that happens - the whole room is probably on fire already - and well - Good Luck!!

That requirement has been in the NEC a long time. It's in the 1999 NEC. The basic requirement is in the 1978 NEC, except it adds the caveat "where reasonably practical". I think these weasel words were removed in the early 1980's.
