Lindley, P.B., "Engineering Design with Natural Rubber," Natural Rubber Technical Bulletin, 3rd edition, published by the National Rubber Producers Research Association [apparently of England], 1970.
It was apparently also published by the Malaysian Rubber Producers Association, and it may have been revised and updated at least once.

I have been unable to answer your question directly beneath your post so, I have taken the liberty of starting a new thread.
The Natural Rubber Producers Research Association changed its name to The Malaysian Rubber Producers Research Association and then finally to the Tun Razak Research Centre, which is based in Hertford, England. If you google TARRC you will be able to contact them. They might have a spare copy or two of the booklet you are looking for, so send them an email. I used to work there until i took retirement at the end of last year so please mention my name in your correspondence. (It probably won't get you a discount though - ha ha).

RE: jclarkw's thread below.
jclarkw, I've got a copy of this publication and, if you can't get a copy elsewhere, I might be able to assist you in some way.

Thanks to all who offered helpful information. I'm now in contact with TARRC and will report any useful results.
RE: jclarkw's thread below.
"I'm gluing a telescope mirror into its mounting cell with small cylindrical silicone-rubber pads... To design these pads, I need a quick education on the force vs. displacement of rubber cylinders in both compression and lateral shear as a function of shape factor on the order of 1 - 2..."
I've now realized that the relative thermal expansion of these silicone-rubber pads will be important. I've seen oblique references to a similar, closed-form, semi-empirical, shape-factor correction to the coefficient of linear thermal expansion for constrained rubber components like these. (My right-circular-cylindrical pads are cemented to effectively rigid, parallel planes on both flat faces.) Does Lindley [1970] cover this issue? If not, can somebody provide a reference that does (preferably without requiring a finite-element analysis)? -- WCJ

Dear Mr [---],
I am sorry for the delay in dealing with your request, Ms Lawson has been away from the office.
[Lindley, P.B., "Engineering Design with Natural Rubber," Natural Rubber Technical Bulletin, 3rd edition, published by the National Rubber Producers Research Association, 1970.]
The above publication is available at a price of £12.00 including postage.
It is currently in the process of being updated and will be available as an e-version, but no finalised date is available at the moment.
If you want to order a copy (the only credit card we can accept is the Amex card), or you can pay by cheque, or payment by BACS into our bank account. I can forward details if required.
Best regards,
Trudie Rawlings
General Office.
