I have become incharge of spare motors and such. What shouid i know or learn how to treat spare motors that are part of sub pumps , i am talking aout 40hp and larger motors .
I have read on here about heaters in motors ,where to get information with that would help. Guess there installed at a rewind?

Either AC or DC at a low voltage may be passed through one or two windings so that the I2R losses will provide enough heat.
The main requirement is to keep the iron above the dew point temperature. When the ambient temperature and relative humidity are both rising the temperature of the iron may lag enough so that condensation forms. It doesn't take much heat to stay above the dew point. This may happen at any temperature, even above 20 Deg C.
When there is a possibility of a moist warm weather front moving in, condensation is a threat. Locations affected by weather fronts crossing large bodies of water or swamps are susceptible.
Heated storage areas may be at risk if there is a possibility of an influx of warm moist air.
