3D hose model, wheres the centerline
3D hose model, wheres the centerline
(OP)
I design tooling fixtures for 3D hose for the auto industry. When I get iges models from customers using catia, their model has centerlines and solidworks does not show centerlines. Is there a way I can turn the centerline on. How can I work with their models. I need the centerline to orientate the hose. Thanks

You do not mention what 3D system you are using. If you are importing a dumb solid into SolidWorks you can turn on the display of Temporary Axes. If you are not using SolidWorks perhaps whatever system you are using has something similar.

I do a 3D Sketch for the centerline.
There is a bit of a geometry trick to getting the bend radii.

Are you using the ENGINEERING.com link (at the bottom of the reply box) to upload the file?

What do you mean you can't do anything with them?
Why can't you simply use the internal diameters (faces) of the hose for mating?
