NXOpen generated PMI annotations

NXOpen generated PMI annotations

NXOpen generated PMI annotations

(OP)
I'm having an issue with an NXOpen routine I wrote. It generates General Note PMIs based on some information, then posts it onto the screen. It works fine for other users except for one in particular. Whenever he runs the routine, the PMI is generated, but instead of solid lines it is displayed as dashed line which render it illegible. If he creates a PMI note by hand, the resulting note comes out normally. I cannot find any options that allow for the display of PMI Notes as dashed lines, and I cannot find any attributes that support setting it through NXOpen.

Any help is appreciated!
Bruce

RE: NXOpen generated PMI annotations

Make sure the objects which you're dimensioning to actually exists. PMI dimensions, like their counterparts on a Drawing, will go into a 'retained' status if the objects which they are referencing are either deleted or suppressed. The out-of-the-box default is to change the appearance of 'retained' annotation, PMI or otherwise, to an alternative color (Brown) and font (Dashed). Once the deleted or suppressed objects are reinstated or a new referenced object is defined (by editing the annotation's 'associativity'), the display of the annotation object will return to it's normal color.
