Mohr-Coulomb parameters

Mohr-Coulomb parameters

(OP)
Hi
I'm modelling a steel pile penetrated in sand and I need some clarifications regarding the soil material properties. I'm modelling a sand layer of peak friction angle 33 degrees and dilation angle of 3 degrees. My question is: when using the Mohr-Coulomb model, is the friction angle entry in Abaqus for the peak or residual angle? in other words, should I enter 33 in friction angle and 3 in dilation or 30 in friction and 3 in dilation?
Also regarding the cohesion yield stress, is it the regular soil cohesion "C" ?

I'm just a bit confused as I read in the abaqus 6.6 documentation that the Mohr-Coulomb model used in Abaqus is not the conventional one and it has some modifications (that I couldn't understand)...
Thanks in advance
