fan pressure testing

fan pressure testing

(OP)
hi guys

i need to test the pressure delivery of a fan
I have an electronic type pitot instrument
my instrument only has straight tubes
is it required the tubes face into the airstream or could it be perpendicular to the flow i.e straight throuh the duct?

RE: fan pressure testing

Post a picture of your device, please. Or give manufacturer and model number.

We can't be sure what "electronic type pitot instrument with only straight tubes" is.

Also, are you testing static pressure only? Or do you actually need to confirm flow, which requires velocity pressure?

Good on ya,

Goober Dave

RE: fan pressure testing

Read first how AMCA tests fans....no use reinventing the wheel.
