Welding Super Duplex SS: Wrought+Wrought vs Wrought+Cast

(OP)
Dear all,

Is there any difference in welding Superduplex say 2507 or Zeron 100 wrought to wrought and
welding wrought to cast? say CE3MN?

Thanks,
Herc

RE: Welding Super Duplex SS: Wrought+Wrought vs Wrought+Cast

No, provided proper welding interpass temperatures and heat inputs are monitored, and the alloys have received proper solution treatments prior to welding or after welding.

Even though the cast chemistries are slightly different it isn't enough to impact the welding behavior. The resulting mechanical and corrosion properties may be different however.
