Is it practical to get a 1/8 fillet weld between a 1/2" thick ledge angle and a 14 ga steel stud?

RE: 1/2" steel angle to 14 ga stud weld

14 ga is a lot thinner than 1/8 in. You will not get the full capacity of the fillet weld. You need to use AISI S100 to determine the weld capacity- it's a function of your thinnest metal.

Mike,

Teks or other screws won't have enough capacity, I would need too many and thats why I want to explore welding.
