Weld Repair ASME Section IX

Weld Repair ASME Section IX

Weld Repair ASME Section IX

(OP)
We have pipe welds (4130 to X80) that X-ray has found small isolated areas that need repair. This x-ray is BEFORE PWHT. Does ASME Sec IX QW-202.3 support me making these repairs without having an additional repair procedure as long as I following the procedure parameters originally used to make this weld? Or is there something else that states that I must have an additional PQR/WPS to support this type of repair?

RE: Weld Repair ASME Section IX

Yes. Weld repairs can be performed using the same (original) WPS that was qualified to make the weld.
