Tabular note help

Tabular note help

Tabular note help

(OP)
I'm trying to import an excel spreadsheet into a tabular note in NX 7.5 while the wole thing imports into the excel file attached to the note less than half shows up when I exit and update. (it's still there upon reopening excel)

more info:

the excel spreadsheet has 139 rows. NX creates my tabular note in two blocks both with 33 rows leaving me short 70 odd rows.

RE: Tabular note help

Select the Tabular Note object, press MB3 and select 'Style'. Here you will find a setting for the 'Maximum Height'. Note that while there is no units given, this is referring to an actual dimension, NOT the number of cells. So in a Metric part this would mm's and for an Imperial part, inches.

So if you're looking for 139 rows, you'll need to multiply that by the height of a default 'cell' (which if left unchanged, is twice the height of the Cell's Text) and enter a value of at least that amount in this entry.

You know I could swear I tried that and it didn't work.

Worked this time tho.

RE: Tabular note help

when I try To add superscript to a cell it creates a box with a line trhough it after the superscript (and off center) Am I missing something?

RE: Tabular note help

I do not think you can do things like that in a cell.

RE: Tabular note help

(OP)
then I must ask why not? are not areas and volumes etc. commonly charted?

RE: Tabular note help

You may need to play with the 'Fit Methods' for the cells (found on the 'Cell Style' dialog).

any hints as to what? Nothing seems to have worked so far and due to the size of the table everything is taking a while to update

RE: Tabular note help

Oh yes, it cam be done. Probably a fit thing.

RE: Tabular note help

I added a tabular note, then added the text g/m2. When you right click the cell and select Edit text, the text editor with formatting options (bold, italic, underline, superscript, etc) will appear. Select the 2 and press the superscript button. It will surround the 2 with markup tags and the output will be: g/m2. The extra box probably indicates that you have some extraneous unrecognized character sequence in the text.

Right click the cell and bring up the text editor, what do you see?

I get the excel sheet

RE: Tabular note help

(OP)
In the cell I have g/m<h>2</h>

(I've tried it with and without the terminating </h>

RE: Tabular note help

(OP)
removing the / from the <h> worked

RE: Tabular note help

Yes, unlike HTML modifiers, there is no need for the '/' in the terminating modifier. All that's important is that they be done in pairs with the 'text of interest' between them (which IS similar to how HTML works).

I don't suppose there's been another solution for greater than or equal sign to aside from the underline trick I've found elsewhere?

RE: Tabular note help

And just for the record, if you do include superscripts and/or subscripts in the text of a cell and in the Annotation Style dialog you have the 'Auto Size Row' option toggled ON as one of the 'Fit Methods', this will cause that specific 'Row' of your Table to increase it's height by a real, but albeit small, amount. If you don't want that to happen, either toggle the 'Auto Size Row' OFF and/or toggled 'Auto Size Text' ON making sure that if they are BOTH ON, that the 'Auto Size Text' option appears AHEAD of the 'Auto Size Row' option in the list of 'Fit Methods'.
