Fire rating of ply

Fire rating of ply

Hello

I need to find out the fire rating for different thickness's of finnish-ply. Are there any references on-line, please?

RE: Fire rating of ply

It burns quite readily. But the Swedish ply, that might be better.

RE: Fire rating of ply

cve...not sure what you are asking. If you are looking for fire resistance ratings of plywood, it is a combustible material and does not achieve a fire resistance rating without specific fire-retardant treatment. If you are asking about "finish" plywood, it is not treated and is readily combustible. Usually only structural grades of plywood are treated for fire resistance.

If you are asking about "Finnish" plywood, I have no idea since I'm in the US and have no experience in Finland.

Please clarify your question a bit if my answers have not met your need. Perhaps others have more insight.

RE: Fire rating of ply

In the USA the APA has information on plywood at http://www.apawood.org/ attached if one pdf I got from them about fire and plywood.

As EOR's we should take the responsibility to design our structures to support the components we allow in our design per that industry standards.

Cheers

I am using 18 finnish-ply and I wanted to know if it will suffice as a 1-hour fire-barrier for steel. I shall make more enquiries.
