There is some pretty interesting and impressive engineering involved in that kind of bldg. moving too. Every bit as challenging as designing a new bldg., and they don’t have today’s code cook books to guide them through ever detail, connection and loading condition. The lateral loads are perfectly clear also, just (weight)(coef. of friction), where to apply them may be another matter.
