Creating .DXF files from NX 8.0 models
Creating .DXF files from NX 8.0 models
(OP)
Hello NX community,
I've found that it's difficult to get a good 2D .dxf view of my model from NX 8.0. I use the File>Export>2D Exchange...And then in the dialog box under "data to export" I select the view I want to export. NX then proceeds very slowly with the .dxf file creation. Eventual I get a .dxf file but I would like all the hidden lines to not be visible. Any suggestions on speeding up the export and also removing the hidden objects? Importing a .dxf also is slow and cumbersome.
Thanks,
Brad Petersen

I've had better luck using the standalone translator for importing. I think you'll have to go to Drafting and make a drawing to remove the hidden lines for exporting.

Preferences -> Visualization -> Visual
...and in the section of the dialog labeled 'General Display Settings' change the rendering style to 'Static Wireframe'. Now drop down to the next section of the dialog, labeled 'Edge Display Settings' and set the 'Hidden Edges' option to the desired mode. Note that if you rotate your model before you can see the correct results you will need to do either a Display Update or Display Regeneration.
