Emboss a solid part

Emboss a solid part

(OP)
Hi,
I'm not able to obtain as the image attached with the emboss command in NX.
Someone can help me ?

Thank you...

Using NX 8 and TC8.3

RE: Emboss a solid part

I can't see the image, the attachment has only the prt.

Frank.

RE: Emboss a solid part

Is it not the problem that your Sketch lies on the plannar Face?

Best regards,

Pascal,

NX5.04+TC2007 (GM Toolkit) / NX7.5 native

RE: Emboss a solid part

The Image is missing, there is only the part with a sketch in the zipfile.
The sketch can lie in the face but then the "End Cap" should probably not be "Plane of section".

RE: Emboss a solid part

Maybe I'm missing somwthing, but I'd just extrude and blend it before the shell.

RE: Emboss a solid part

If you have the sheet metal license you can use the "dimple" feature after applying the "Convert to sheet metal".
It will complain about non uniform thickness but create the dimple.
Or you can extrude the sketch and instead use the Solid Punch , in sheet metal app but does not require "convert to sheet metal".
The "emboss" will not to my knowledge do the "backside" in one operation. It is intended to create complex "embossings". ( see example in the attached part, NX7.5)
Regards,
Tomas

For John2025,
I can't use your solution because I model a part with shared feature and create a linked body.
So two files create two different mold parts that share the same base shape.
In one I need an emboss for an electronic board and in the other some cut and more.

For Toost,
I used your suggestion, but doesn't knowing the emboss feature, I asked for a simple solution with emboss, but you confirm that emboss is not the solution for this case.

Thank you...
