CALCULATION CORROSION INHIBITOR
CALCULATION CORROSION INHIBITOR
(OP)
Hi everybody!
I need help about corrosion again
I have CO2 flow with 6000kg/h where water in tube is crawling 16.5L/h on the bottom ....
I need to choose the best way to protect tube of corrosion. The corrosion rate is right now 0.34 mm/year.
My design life of tube must be 20 year!
Well i have METHANOL and GLYCOL as a inhibitors to choose .....
I don t know how to calculate how much of them i need to have no more than 0.1mm/year of corrosion rate.
IN THE kg/h or m3/h.
THANKS TO EVERYBODY IN ADVANCE

RE: CALCULATION CORROSION INHIBITOR
Is that an observed corrosion rate, or is it a prediction from modelling? The corrosion rate adjustment factor for using certain percentage of MEG is given in subclause 5.3 of NORSOK M-506. What is driving the target of 0.1 mm/year? Is it the design corrosion rate using inhibition? If yes, the amount of inhibitor to use is derived by laboratory testing.

RE: CALCULATION CORROSION INHIBITOR
I decided to have a target of corrosion rate as 0,1 mm/year. Is that ok????? Or it must be some other assumption!?
