Abaqus quits when using 16 CPUs

(OP)
Hi,

I have enough Abaqus/Explicit tokens to run in parallel with 16 CPUs. However, it just quits after running package.exe splitting the job into 16 parts (spitting out 16 .pac, .sel, etc. files), writing the 'stable time increment' info in the ".sta" file. And then it just quits with error message in the ".log" file, saying it exited with error, and asked to look into the ".sta" file for error message (which does not have any error message anyway). I never saw "explicit.exe" launched.

However, the same input files run fine with just 12 CPUs -- I wonder if this is a bug in Abaqus.

Tried both Abaqus 6.8-4 and 6.10-EF1, same problem.

My Linux platform has enough memory (96 G), 16 CPUs in total (may be after hyper-threading, I don't know).

Any hints?
