INTERNAL COATING ON VESSEL AT 90 Barg??

INTERNAL COATING ON VESSEL AT 90 Barg??

INTERNAL COATING ON VESSEL AT 90 Barg??

(OP)
Client ask me to use an internal coating in a separator at a pressure of 90barg and 50°C temperature. I have proposed SS Cladding. Oneslty seems to be a strange requirement. Does Anyone know wheter it is technically possible to use internal coating at this design condition?
Thanks

RE: INTERNAL COATING ON VESSEL AT 90 Barg??

GabrieleB,
Which part of the design condition is upsetting you? The temperature is negligible and the pressure is irrelevant.
You failed to mention what fluids are separated. That is important, to select the coating resistant to the fluids coming in contact with the internal surface. I imagine some corrosive fluids (you don't mention anything of abrasion) might corrode the internal surface if you are not protecting it. Can you give us some details of the fluid(s)?
Cheers,

NACE Corrosion 2004, Paper 04034 provides excellent guidance on the subject although it omits cyclic decompression testing in the qualification programme.
