Mechanical Engineer Reference Manual, Lindeburg, 10th edition
Mechanical Engineer Reference Manual, Lindeburg, 10th edition
(OP)
Does anyone have the 10th edition Mechanical Engineer Reference Manual by Lindeburg? I'm looking to buy it.
I spent $45 on Amazon the other day to buy some of the old resources to begin studying for the PE test. October is the first time I am eligible. Not sure yet, if I will take it, or will be able to make time for it. Going into the end of the year might be busy at work.
The 3 book set of manual, practice test, and solutions of the new editions is $317. Just waiting to invest on that.
Thank you.

Latexman I didn't know about that site. Just looked. $100 is the cheapest for an old 10th. At that price, I'd rather pick up a new 12th. http://www.addall.com/New/submitNew.cgi?query=9781888577136&type=ISBN&location=&state=AK&dispCurr=USD

It is always impressive to me the number of people that assume because you work for someone (and acquire a license) that your boss must have one. "Oh, you got your PE? Great, now you can be on the same level as Joe." "Joe is not a PE." "Really?"

I am out of my office right now, but as I recall my Lindeburg is 12th edition. The important thing is that this was the first edition that was written for the "new" multiple choice test. All of the sample problems in the book and the sample test are for that format. The older versions had questions in the older essay format. The test questions are very different now that you have to pick a discrete answer instead of showing your work for part credit. I'd get the new book.

"Belief" is the acceptance of an hypotheses in the absence of data.
"Prejudice" is having an opinion not supported by the preponderance of the data.
"Knowledge" is only found through the accumulation and analysis of data.

I agree with zdas04 about the format of the test, though the reference material should be organized similarly...
