Transformer resistive component (IEC 60909)

Transformer resistive component (IEC 60909)

Transformer resistive component (IEC 60909)

(OP)
Hello,

I'm calculating short circuit fault currents based on IEC 60909.

I need to determine the rated resistive component of the short-circuit voltage in percent of the transformer. Based on the standard I can calculate uRr by transformer loss.

The total loss of the transformer in the windings at rated current is the total loss of transformer (winding + core) or just winding?

Thanks in advance
IM

RE: Transformer resistive component (IEC 60909)

According to Schneider Electric Cahier Technique no. 158
Calculation of Short-circuit Currents
ch.2.2 Determining the various short-circuit impedances
Internal transformer impedance
par.4:
"The resistance is calculated using the joule
losses (W) in the windings:
W = 3* RT*In^2
RT=W/3/In^2"

RE: Transformer resistive component (IEC 60909)

This is extracted from IEC 60909-0
ch. 3.3.1 Two-winding transformers
RT=uRr /100*UrT^2/SrT=PkrT/3*IrT^2 (8)
PkrT is the total loss of the transformer in the windings at rated current
The resistive component uRr can be calculated from the total losses PkrT in the windings at the rated
current IrT both referred to the same transformer side (see equation (8)).

Thank you.
