"Dipped" Plastic?

"Dipped" Plastic?

"Dipped" Plastic?

(OP)
I was looking at slide gloves (for longboarding) and I came across this pair of gloves that I'd never seen any others like before: http://www.timeshipracing.com/detail.php?mitemno=1000000079&group=1000000015 The thing that is unique about it is the fingers. They are dipped in plastic as opposed to having a big thing of plastic across all of the fingers (like the other styles on the site). I wanted to try and make my own pair like these. Does anyone know of any durable plastics that the fingers could be "dipped" into?

RE: "Dipped" Plastic?

PVC Plastisol is how they are made.

Pat

RE: "Dipped" Plastic?

Agree with Pat. Though you could try urethane or epoxy "dip" coating...

RE: "Dipped" Plastic?

plastidip is sold at the hardware store.

RE: "Dipped" Plastic?

If Plasdip is what I think it is, ie a dip coating for tool handles etc, it is a PVC plastisol.
