Control panel wiring for Australia

Control panel wiring for Australia

Control panel wiring for Australia

(OP)

Does wire in control panel applications in Australia have to be labeled in metric designations (ex...2.5mm or 1.5mm)or is awg designations satisfy Australian code as well?

RE: Control panel wiring for Australia

As far as I can tell from AS3000 and AS3008.1, there is nothing to say that AWG cables cannot be used, except that for control wiring, they must be larger than 0.5sqmm or 20 AWG (see section 3.5 of AS3000). The correct wire colours should also be adhered to.
