Importing WAVE linked parts into Teamcenter

Importing WAVE linked parts into Teamcenter

Importing WAVE linked parts into Teamcenter

(OP)
I'm in the process of importing a NX 7.5 project into Teamcenter and I've come across a potential problem. Several of the parts use WAVE linked geometry. I'm not super familiar with WAVE operations so I have a couple questions.

First, from what I can tell, the are three files involved: the original part, it's mirror, and the assembly that establishes the mirror's location. Do all three need to be loaded into Teamcenter and will all the links be maintained?

Second, I've noticed that while WAVE linking is a powerful tool, if it's not done correctly it can cause problems. What is the best way to take one part, mirror it, and then modify the mirror to work in a slightly different application, all while being able to make changes to the original part that will also update the mirror?

RE: Importing WAVE linked parts into Teamcenter

Wave linked parts should be loaded (imported into teamcenter), or else you will end with broken links. While importing the Assembly into the Teamcenter, if you make sure that the "Associated Files" option is selected in the "Non Masters/Associated Files" tab, that will take care of importing the wave linked parents also into the teamcenter.
