2 piece Bulkhead Clamp for Klein Flanges

2 piece Bulkhead Clamp for Klein Flanges

(OP)
Does anyone have experience using these 2 piece bulkhead clamps to mount a klein flange interface to a bulkhead or other flat piece?
http://www.lesker.com/newweb/flanges/hardware_kf_clamps_bulkhead.cfm?pgid=al

I keep getting a leak rate >1e-6 cc/sec and I want to get it below 1e-7 cc/sec.  What torque do you use on those bolts?

Thanks,
Phil

Kurt J. Lesker had no info to provide me on either the torque nor the leak rate issue. :(

To your specific question, no.  KF flanges are supposed to mate with other KF flanges, not flat plates...

How flat and what surface finish is the mating piece (flat plate side), and/or does it have a matching groove for the KF seal?  If not, are you running w/o any seal on the KF flange?  If not using seal, I'd look to find an o-ring to fill the gap, or - have you tried slathering on some silicone grease?

If you are using a seal, what material, and have you checked that it's not degraded or cut, and that its mating grooves have a nice shiny surface finish.
