Undrained Analysis

Undrained Analysis

Undrained Analysis

(OP)
In Plaxis two methods are suggested for performing undrained analysis in clays.
Method A is performed utilising drained strength & stiffness parameters, consolidation is followed by staged construction.
Method B is total stress analysis using undrained strength parameters & drained stiffness parameters.
Comparing the two methods I found method A overestimates the undrained shear strength & underestimates the movements & forces predictions.
Any ideas please share?
Thanks in advance
Debasis
