hi everyone,
i am trying to model a spring/dashpot element on in abaqus in order to determine the response to an input force as depicted in the attached document. could anyone be kind enough to give me a push in the right direction on how to go about modelling this in abaqus.

Hello,

I would try connector elements (type TRANSLATOR) with *CONNECTOR ELASTIC and *CONNECTOR DAMPING keywords.
