Durability analysis vs Stress analysis

Durability analysis vs Stress analysis

Durability analysis vs Stress analysis

(OP)
is there any difference between durability analysis and stress analysis? If so what is the difference?

RE: Durability analysis vs Stress analysis

Stress analysis = prediction of strength, stiffness, buckling, etc under static loads, and sometimes dynamic loads

Durability analysis = prediction of long term performance, degradation, fatigue resistance, etc due to repeated in-service loads and environments

RE: Durability analysis vs Stress analysis

the difference between static strength allowables and fatigue strength allowbales (the allowable cyclic load to achieve the desired life)
