Hi, I'm trying to set up a piezoelectric analysis in workbench, but for the life of me I can't find the command/input to do this. The toolbox doesn't include it and the closest I can get is to start an electric analysis and then use a named selection to select a part as solid227 (a piezo element). But that just selects a thermal-piezo analysis! Thanks Ant.

I am not that experienced in workbench, but making a solid227 into a piezoelectric all depends on the KEYOPTION(1) you choose for it. If the keyopt is set to 11 it will be a structural-thermal type, etc, etc. For it to be piezoelectric it will have to be KEYOPT(1)=1001. If you are able to input commands into workbench something like:

ET,1,SOLID227,1001

should make a solid227 with piezoelectric matrices available for definition.

I concluded it can't be done!

You have to use commands when solving to send the data to APDL mechanical - I think!
