SS structural bolts equal to ASTM A325?

SS structural bolts equal to ASTM A325?

SS structural bolts equal to ASTM A325?

(OP)
Is there a SS bolts that is close or equal to ASTM A325 structural bolt? Some threads here call for A193 B8 but the yield strength of A193 is only 30.

Any information would be greately appreciated.

RE: SS structural bolts equal to ASTM A325?

ellas1,

Check out this document:  http://www.ssina.com/download_a_file/fasteners.pdf

This was referenced by Modern Steel Construction Magazine in their Quiz section.  Here was the Q/A of that quiz:

True/False:  The 2010 AISC  Spec i f i cat ion includes
typical stainless steels in the list of referenced material
specifications.

False. Sections A2 and A3 in Chapter A of the 2010 AISC Specification indicate which materials are specifically considered by the AISC Committee on Specifications.  Stainless steel materials are addressed by the Specialty Steel Industry of North America (www.ssina.com).
