How to measure diameter from model
How to measure diameter from model
(OP)
Hi !
Using NX 7.5, is there a way to measure diameter from a model? Presently, I'd use ANALYSIS > MEASURE DISTANCE > RADIUS then taking this value and multiplying by 2.
If not, can someone please give a tip/trick to automate this by eliminating all of the above steps? Macro ? How?
It would be nice if a NX macro would prompt the user to select the geometry (circle), I guess the radius value would then be assigned to a variable and then multiply this value by 2, etc.
Thanks in advance for your advice.

Another extremely quick way to get a radius is to use Analysis-Geometric properties for which I assigned a toolbar button. It can be used dynamically to get radius as well as X,Y,Z and UV percentages. Albeit the XYZ positions are hard coded from absolute and unfortunately you can't change that. (Supposedly being able to switch between absolute and wcs has been asked for an enhancement for years but apparently other enhancements have the lead) Also, you may have to tweak your selection settings to use it dynamically rather than a single pick; I can't remember if it required that, sorry.
