Butt Fusion of HDPE Pipes

Butt Fusion of HDPE Pipes

Butt Fusion of HDPE Pipes

(OP)
Hi all,

It is common for us to connect HDPE pipes by means of butt fusion. However, I found that there are different standards on fusion parameters.

For example,
DVS 2207-1
WIS 4-32-16
GIS PL2/3
ISO 21307
UNI...

Each of the above standards refer to their specific set of fusion parameters. Which one do you prefer? And why?

Thanks,

Use ASTM F2620. This standard gives you everything regarding HDPE fusion.

For best results as well as a warranty, you should follow the pipe manufacturer's instructions.

The standard would form a part of an overall standard that includes design, fabrication, installation and testing. You cannot cherry pick a standard to suit yourself. You have to use the whole of the suite of relevant standards otherwise you may end up with a collection of minimums.
