HTRI noncondensable gas venting query

HTRI noncondensable gas venting query

HTRI noncondensable gas venting query

(OP)
Dear eng-tips member

The binary hydrocarbon, toluene-water system with 70% noncondensable gas entering the two consecutive series horizontal type AEL condenser at 110C, 100mbar (shell side is cooling water,30->40C, chilling water 10->15C).

I have problem to find the toluene dew point in these mixture.

Should I use these four component mixture (toluene, water, N2,O2) as feed stream input to get the toluene dew point ( in fact, the hydrocarbon dew point is -19C is found by Pro ii)
Or 2 component (toluene-water) as feed stream input to get the toluene dew point (dew point is around 100C)?

The other is the noncondensable gas entering to the condenser is simulating by HTRI, and the vent nozzle in the HTRI geometry->nozzle panel is set up. But, how can I make sure that these noncondensable gas surely vent out in this nozzle in HTRI because I tried to use -100C chilling water to condensate out the toluene in the 2nd condenser, but in vain. Therefore, I guess the 70% noncondensable gas is not vent out in the HTRI simulation case. please bear with me my English is not so good.

I really appreciate your kindly help and any comment.

Thank you so much.

RE: HTRI noncondensable gas venting query

The toluene-water is a known binary. The first dew point will be either with one of those two compounds or with the binary.
