Spherical valve seat material in not chloride environment

Spherical valve seat material in not chloride environment

(OP)
Hello,

Spherical valves are installed in a reciprocating pump (Boiler feed water pump) to feed water to OTSG (once through Steam Generator). The feed for the pump is from a BFW tank, contains makeup water from exchangers blowndown (in normal condition it goes to process pond) which has high chlorides (Min 1670, Max 18,100 ppm) and high temperature (Design temp 200 F). Existing Valve seat material is Nitronic 50 and is not good in hot chloride environment due to SCC (Stress Corrosion Cracking). One option but expensive is to go with Hastelloy C-276 material, I would like to know any recommendation for a carbon steel material or alloy. Any help or direction will be highly appreciate.

Regards
