Flow and Back Pressure between two pipes

Flow and Back Pressure between two pipes

(OP)
Hello all,

I'd like to find out how to calculate the flowrate that a drain can take.  The practical problem I have is that a large drian is funneled into a smaller one.  I want to calculate the rate at which the smaller drain can flow.

Both drains have a fall of 1 in 12.
The large drain feeding the water is 3 feet wide, and a half circle.
The smaller drain is 18 inches in diameter, and circular.
Both drains are made from a cobbled stone finish.

I'd like to know how much water is needed in drain A, before Drain B is saturated, and starts to back up into drain A.
