supporting of a pipe at elevation
supporting of a pipe at elevation
(OP)
Hi friends,
I have a 6" steel pipe and 200m long without any structure around it.
The elevation of the pipe is 2m. What kind of support I should use?
(bracket with shoe? or bracket without shoe? or stanchion?)
sincerely,

There are a hundred ways this is done....

What is your pipe material spec?
Steel pipe is not recommended for seawater application due to corrosion issue.
You better off using FRP (fiberglass reinforced) piping for seawater.
Depending on the final pipe wall thickness and limit of deflection, for 32" FRP pipe with water at 65degC will require a pipe support every 7m.
FRP pipe is best supported using saddle clamp sitting on frame structure or T-post.
Since it's a large water pipe, you also should consider water hammering as part of your structure and pipe support design.
Good luck.

Piping Materials? I've always liked miraculium or nocorrodium, but be sure to ONLY specify the instantantium alloy types. Everything else takes too long to fabricate. FedEx can deliver most diameter welds overnight here in the US, but they do charge extra for Sunday night deliveries to jobsites.
