Help wiring a Bodine 1 phase 115VAC motor

Help wiring a Bodine 1 phase 115VAC motor

Help wiring a Bodine 1 phase 115VAC motor

(OP)
I have a Bodine ECI-58E2 motor that I'm not sure on how to wire up.  It has 1 red, 1 white, 1 green, and 2 blue wires coming from it.  Both the blue wires go straight to the capacitor.  Looking from the front, the capicitor does have a red mark on the left lead that you can see in the picture.  The motor came with the two blue wires connected as they are.  Not sure if they are supposed to be like that or not.

I would like to be able to wire it with either a double poll switch or two individual switches; one for forward and one for reverse.

Thanks in advance for any help.

red=hot   white = neutral  green = ground........ususlly

verify with ohm meter cont between red & white  then check green to case

That is what I was taught..... for what it is worth

From what I can gather, this thing is wired to run only one direction correct?  Could I get it to start in reverse by switching the two blue wires on the capacitor?

Product Locator
Model number ECI-58E2 is not in our product database. Please try another model number.
If you need further assistance, please contact our customer service team: info@bodine-electric.com
Hint: Specify a 4-digit stock model number from our catalog. If you're looking for a non-stock model, precede the model number with an "N". Example model numbers: 0648, 3836, N4800.
You can also specify the serial number from the motor's nameplate.

I did contact Bodine Electric and they sent me to www.emotor.com.  I talked with Greg over there and he was extremely helpful. Even sent me the orginal OEM purchase order from the company who ordered those motors which happened to be Zerox.  Unfortunately the ordered had it wired to only run one direction and is not reversable (at least without taking it apart).  But at least I can still use it for what I need, which is to power a grain mill for homebrewing, lol.

BTW, you were right, green is ground, white neutral, and red power.  Works great.  Thanks everybody for the assistance.  Cheers!
