Export multiple BOM's?

Export multiple BOM's?

Export multiple BOM's?

(OP)
Hi folks. I created a pack of drawings some time ago and the client has called this morning asking for all the BOM's in Excel format. I know how to save one BOM out as Excel, but wondered if there is a faster way than opening each drawing individually and saving-as. Any suggestions welcome!

Many thanks.

RE: Export multiple BOM's?

You can do a top level assembly file and do the BOM for that using indented detailed part numbering, then export that to a single Excel file.  If you have a top level assembly the rest is easy just by exploring the BOM options.

Good suggestion. I'm working on a much smaller project right now so  had a go at producing a BOM in that manner... I see, the resultant BOM is one big list of EVERYTHING in the entire machine. Not sure how the client will feel about that but I will suggest it, thanks.

I did wonder about some sort of macro? Open, save-BOM-as, close? May well be that on this occasion it's quicker to just open everything and complete the task manually, but I thought it was a worthwhile question to ask.

RE: Export multiple BOM's?

If you use the Indented option, the items are listed under their respective sub-assys.
