Hi,

Do you know where in section NB, we can find the minimum required distance between 2 welds?Fillet and butt welds.

Been MUCH discussed in the API and ASME fora,  The consensus answer is that

a) there is no Code limit, and
b)  the prudent limit supported by Weld Engineering observations is that the HAZ's are not allowed to intersect.

NOTE:  there is no valid justification, other than aesthetics, to limit the distance between pipe circ welds to 2, 3, or 4 diameters.
