Volumetric flow input for a gas in Hysys

Volumetric flow input for a gas in Hysys

Volumetric flow input for a gas in Hysys

(OP)
Hello gentlemen and ladies,

I have been using Hysys for a few months now, and it dawned on me that I dont know how to input a flow specification for a stream as a volumetric gas flow. Std ideal liq volume isn't helpful.

I did this by calculating the mass flow of a gas in standard conditions (0 gr celsius, 101.325 KPa, not 15 deg C !). Dividing by 22.4 gives me the kmoles of gas, and mass=moles x Molecular Mass.

Can Hysys make this process faster, if i have available a flow of xxxxxx cubic meters in std conditions of a mixture of gases?

RE: Volumetric flow input for a gas in Hysys

JackWhite,
Click on the stream, Worksheet tab and Conditions. Enter the Molar Flow. A small tab will appear in the circled area of the screenshot after you select the input field. Click on that tab and select the volumetric flow rate. You cannot, however, input actual volumetric flow rates. Hysis will calculate that based on the P, T and calculated Z for the fluid.
